MY WRITIng
I’ve written and co-written over 500 books — under my own name and a variety of pseudonyms — across a wonderfully diverse mix of subjects. Whether it’s puzzles, recipes, research tips, cultural insights or mindfulness, each project has grown out of curiosity and a love of sharing ideas in creative and practical ways.
Fiendish logic puzzles
I love creating logic puzzles that combine satisfying twists with light-hearted, slightly punny stories. They’re designed to stretch your thinking while raising a smile (and perhaps the occasional groan...)
"This is definitely the best logic puzzle book I've had so far."
"I enjoyed the stories that ran through each book which I'm sure took a lot of time to create. I just finished The Christmas Countdown. I must say, I was worried that those naughty elves wouldn't perform well enough so Santa could deliver his presents!"
"The quality of these books is exceptional, the back stories all linking as the stories progress."
The Xenophobe's Guide to the Finns
As a Finn living in the UK, I had great fun distilling the quirks, traditions, and humour of Finnish life into this compact cultural guide — a blend of affectionate observation and insider knowledge.
A frank and funny look at what makes the Finns Finnish
“This is how a guide book should be written. It won’t tell you where to catch a bus in Helsinki, but it will give you a very sharp insight into the mind of the guy who drives it. It tells me things I want to know about the people; things which other guide books avoid mentioning. The first time I read it was to learn about the Finns. The second time was simply to enjoy again the brilliantly funny prose.”

Food writing
I’m fascinated by how creativity in the kitchen can thrive even when dietary restrictions are present.
My cookbooks bring together inventive, flavour-packed recipes, offering simple ways to add a little extra delight to every meal.
Mindfulness
As a certified mindfulness coach, I like to create resources that gently open the door to presence, calm and curiosity. These books contain simple practices that can be woven into the fabric of daily life.
Research for Writers
I have a PhD in history and over 20 years’ experience in contemporary and historical research. I’ve been sharing my knowledge through my monthly Research Tips for Writers column in Writing Magazine since 2010. I also teach nonfiction writing and offer book coaching services.
